Mac Miller's family releases rapper's posthumous album 'Circles'

Elite Daily contacted Grande representatives to ask if the singer was on the album, but had no response at the time of publication. A written statement posted on Miller's Instagram detailed the nature of the new project, which is meant to serve as a sister album to the one previous - 2018's Grammy-nominated Swimming. Miller passed away from an accidental drug overdose in September 2018. This marks the pair's third collaboration after Grande's "This Way" and Miller's "My Favorite Part". Brion completed the album in Miller's absence "based on his time and conversations" with the artist.

Circles features numerous hallmarks for which Swimming was critically-acclaimed upon its release - Mac further realizing his singing voice in addition to rapping, live instrumentation, and earnest, confessional lyrical content. At the time of his passing, Malcolm was well into the process of recording his companion album to Swimming, entitled Circles. Although there is no confirmation, it seems that fans are hearing Grande's voice on the album. "I need someone to save me before I drive myself insane", he softly crunches in the fifth track, "I can see".

To make it more interesting, Grande's own tweets on Wednesday January 15 have even more suspicious fans.

Since its release, fans and critics have praised the late rapper's new album.

During her cover interview with Vogue in July 2019, Ariana described her grief over Miller's death as "pretty all-consuming". "He was the best person ever, and he didn't deserve the demons he had". And I hope that Grande herself will confirm whether these sweet harmonies are really hers or not soon enough.
