Everton given Ake boost after Chelsea cool their interest

The Blues sold Ake to Bournemouth for £20m in 2017 following a successful loan on the south coast.

Chelsea have cooled their interest in Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake and are not expected to exercise their buy-back option to re-sign the Dutch worldwide, nor will they be making a move for Cherries teammate Callum Wilson.

Frank Lampard's side have dropped their interest in Ake and Wilson for the time being.

However, according to Sky Sports, Chelsea will now focus their attentions elsewhere, having decided against moves for two players currently battling against relegation.

Tottenham Hotspur may have a free run at reported target Nathan Ake, with reports now suggesting Chelsea have ended their interest. The Dutchman is very calm and composed on the ball, his versatility enables him to cover in midfield in the same vein as Mason Holgate, and, as a left-footed centre-back, he would be more suited to playing on the left side of defence, which would prove useful for the club as Everton are now without a natural left-footed player in that position.

Dunk, who has won one cap for England and is Brighton's captain, has been one of the standout players in the Premier League so far this season, and is seen as a solution to Chelsea's current defensive shortcomings.

Not only would Chelsea be missing out on an experienced Premier League defender, but they'd also be giving their rivals the chance to strengthen theirs, so we feel as if the club need to reconsider their stance on Ake before the end of the window.
