Lampard determined to avoid 'knee-jerk' transfer deals

Frank Lampard has reassured Chelsea FC fans that Willian will not be going "anywhere" in the January transfer window.

Lampard criticised Barkley earlier this season for lacking professionalism after a row with a taxi driver during a night out in Liverpool.

The 21-year-old joined the club in the summer, but had to be patient until he was able to impress and was often excluded from the starting line-up by coach Frank Lampard.

'He's played the last couple of games and done very well.

He is keen to bring in new faces - and several players have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Lampard has confirmed that he's still got faith in the midfielder and stated there is no transfer talk regarding him. That was news I heard like everyone else this week, and no feeling towards it. I'm very happy with him'.

"We know his contract is up at the end of the season".

"If everything is right it might happen but it's not, so whilst it's not he's our player", Lampard said.

The 20-year-old right-back has enjoyed a breakthrough season after spending last season on loan in the Championship with Wigan. "I knew him as a youth player in the academy here", explained Lampard. I tried to get him to Derby but he couldn't come mid-season. And he has that talent, so it's great for the club that he's signed for so long'.

I think that's why we have to think ultra-carefully, and I do care and consider the club and where we're going.

Apart from Ross Barkley there have also been reports about Willian possibly moving out of the club in January but thankfully, Lampard has also shut the door to that rumour.

Standard Sport reports that while Willian wants to remain in West London for the foreseeable future, he is demanding a deal that would tie him to the club for a minimum of two years, while he wants an increase on his £110,000-a-week wages. And then work with him, I feel the same, and even more so now he's got his foot into the first team. We are working on that, but also I'm very aware of how I want the squad to be and how much we must focus on what is our job in hand, which is winning matches.
