African leaders, business owners and heads of worldwide organisations are billed to be in London for the summit to engage in discussions "to create new partnerships that will deliver more investments and jobs". The summit, which brings together 21 African countries with the United Kingdom and African companies, is one of those avenues the United Kingdom is seeking to endear itself more closely to Africa as it nears its complete exit from the European Union.
