Apple Working on ‘Pro Mode’ for macOS Catalina to Boost Macs Performance

Apple’s Touchscreen Mac Book that can mirror the content of an iPhone or vice versa

The patent details the description of a touchscreen laptop and was filed in the US.

The patent was applied for in the United States and falls under the collective title of "Cross Device Interaction". My guess is that Apple will likely wind up in the 1,800 range, due to both higher peak clock speeds and some architectural improvements made possible by the much higher transistor budget.

The patent has revealed respective labels for the laptop and the smartphone. The touch display can be used for various functions and commands.

The "nm" in this case stands for "nanometre" which is a billionth of a metre, or a millionth of a millimetre, so we're talking about something that's practically microscopic in size, and while it's hard to believe that two millionths of a milimetre makes that much difference, if Apple keeps the A14 the same physical size as last year's A13, this could allow it to nearly double the number of transistors on the chip. The cross-platform functionality allows the users to access content from one of their Apple device and screen it on another Apple device. You can check How to Use iPhone as an Escape Key on MacBook Pro Touch Bar with ESCapey.

The advantage is obvious for seamless content transfer and enhanced computational capabilities.

There's also speculation that this mode will only be available to recent models, such as the MacBook Pro 16-inch, which uses a new thermal design.

For this, a Taiwanese component company Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) has reportedly broken into the supply chain for Apple's mmWave 5G iPhones and 5G iPads with its substrate-based FC_AiP (flip chip antenna-in-package) technology, Apple Insider reported recently. One thing, however, remains certain: all these devices will be powered by Apple A14 chipset.

However, don't expect the device to launch anytime soon. Apple notes that the technology could be time-consuming or inefficient with power consumption.
