A New Jersey mother was left horrified after she received a package of soiled diapers from an Amazon warehouse that left her fearing for her daughter's health. Sales said she noticed the diapers were soiled after she put the lights on.

Sales said that she immediately disinfected the nursery and wiped down her 19-month-old daughter with rubbing alcohol as soon as she made the discovery.

WPIX-TV reports that when Nassly Sales opened her Amazon package, she was shocked to see the diapers covered in what appeared to be fecal matter.

"I picked up the diapers and it was a little bit heavy". This month, she says they arrived with a disgusting addition: poop.

"At that point, I turn on the light and that's when I noticed these diapers are neatly-folded and they are soiled", Ms Sales told United States news outlet WPIX.

Mukherjee said that Amazon customer service did not seem to fully comprehend the family's situation.

"They were like, "Okay sorry for your inconvenience, we will give you a refund", Mr Mukherje said, adding Amazon said they could "keep the stuff" and they "don't need to return it".

"And my thought was, 'Wow, you are not understanding what I'm saying'".

"I want Amazon to investigate and find these criminals who are putting children's lives in danger", she wrote.

Amazon has not responded to Global News' request for comment, but did issue a statement to PIX11.

"We work hard to provide customers with a great experience and deeply regret that this situation did not live up to our high standards", an Amazon spokeswoman told Fox News, via email.

Amazon Warehouse sells pre-owned, used, and open box items that are inspected using a rigorous 20-point quality inspection process, according to the website. "We are working directly with the customer to address this situation".
