Ronaldinho names three players better than Messi

Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has made it clear that his former teammate at Barcelona Lionel Messi is not the greatest of all time, but only the best of his era.

The 39-year-old is a former Camp Nou team-mate of the Argentine, having played with the Catalans while Messi was just starting to make his breakthrough into the starting XI.

"In the whole history, I can think of five players - Pele, (Alfredo) di Stefano, (Johan) Cruyff, (Diego) Maradona and then there is Messi".

But Ronaldinho, who won the Ballon d'Or in 2005 and played with Messi for four years at the Nou Camp, says he can not describe his ex-colleague as the the greatest footballer of all time.

The Argentina global is considered by many to be the best player in football history, with his exploits soaring beyond anything we've seen before.

Messi, who won a record-breaking sixth Ballon d'Or earlier this month, has fond memories of his time playing alongside Ronaldinho.

"I can't say that Messi is the best ever, but he is the best in his time".

"I came into the dressing room at 16-17 years of age, seeing all those footballing giants made it tough".

"I love Messi, he is the greatest player in the world, probably ever, and he's had a fantastic season", Barnes told BonusCodeBets.

"As long as Liverpool win, I don't feel he will be that bothered by individual awards".

"Besides, we didn't play as much at that time".

And Messi insisted that Barcelona would fight for every trophy ahead of the current campaign.

"I hope to have a good time with all of you, where football will be involved".

"We have to value the league". Eight in 11 years is great for any club. "We have new ideas and a new enthusiasm".
