Rockets thinking about protesting game vs. Spurs

Walker lifts Spurs; Rockets fall in 2OT despite Harden’s 50

Specifically, give Lonnie Walker IV credit.

It took two overtime frames, but James Harden eclipsed the half-century mark for the third time this season, finishing with 50 points in a 135-133 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. The second came against DeRozan with 0.8 seconds remaining, sealing San Antonio's victory.

Houston Rockets star James Harden was seemingly punished for his own ability after having a spectacular dunk ruled out in confusing circumstances.

"When the play happened, Harden goes in for a dunk, and then the ball appears to us to pop back through the net", crew chief James Capers told a pool reporter.

The officials inexplicably missed the call on the floor, while also denying head coach Mike D'Antoni and the Rockets the opportunity to review it. The botched call crushed Houston's momentum. They got hot, made shots and we just didn't do anything to combat it'.

"I don't know how to answer your question. I'm just happy that we played team ball and we got this win".

Spurs: Walker's previous career highs were 16 points against Denver on April 3 and 26 minutes against Golden State on February 6 (Feb. 7, PHL time).

The Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen reported after the game that the Rockets were considering protesting the game over the missed points. Bryn Forbes tied it at 131 with a 3-pointer, and the teams traded free throws the remainder of the game. However, it was his defensive plays late that earned the Lakers the win: There was a stuff block of Nikola Jokic, but more impressive was when Davis twice got switched onto point guard Jamal Murray late and was able to stay in front of the speedy guard and force him into bad shots. The difference was Jimmy Butler, who scored 8 of his 22 points in overtime on his way to a triple-double.

Anthony Davis' double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds and LeBron James' 25 points and nine assists saw the Lakers bounce back from their loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

San Antonio responded with a group effort to beat the Rockets four days after knocking off the Los Angeles Clippers at home.

"We just quit playing defence, we quit getting back, we turned it over silly and didn't get back".

Houston outscored San Antonio 7-2 in the final two minutes of overtime to force a second OT.
