Ohio State Buckeyes at North Carolina Tar Heels Betting Preview

In final regular season Big Ten Power Rankings Michigan falls after loss to Ohio State

This will be the third straight big test for the Tar Heels already this season, after losing to upstart MI in the Battle 4 Atlantis tourney in the Bahamas. That honor went instead to Oklahoma State Chuba Hubbard; all that running back has done is now lead the nation in rushing with 1,936 yards and stand second in rushing touchdowns with 21. Take Ohio State straight up along with the under.

North Carolina's offensive weapons also include junior forward Garrison Brooks, who is averaging 12.9 points and 8.3 rebounds through the first seven games. Wesson, a junior forward, is nearly averaging a double-double (12.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game).

The Buckeyes came out of the half using a 10-3 spurt, capped by layups from Washington Jr. and Kyle Young, to take a 39-30 lead at the 16:49 mark but Anthony responded with a pair of 3-pointers to make it a three-point contest at 39-36 with 15:57 left to play. Michigan, as you may have heard, has vaulted all the way to the fourth-ranked team in the nation. Ohio State's three-point shooting is a problem and yes they have Wesson, and yes they beat No. 10 Villanova by 25 points. Anthony is averaging 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. North Carolina followed that up with a standout win over the 11th-ranked Oregon Ducks, 78-74.

When the Buckeyes extended the lead to more than 20 in the game's final minutes, much of the home crowd headed for the exits.

Defensive end Chase Young also brought home some hardware with Big Ten's Nagurski-Woodson Defensive Player of the Year and Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year. They've held teams to 66.1 points a game so far this season.

Defensively, Ohio State has been solid all season, and the Buckeyes have only allowed opponents to shoot 32.9% from the field.

Less-heralded freshman DJ Carton is going to have his hands full in a matchup with Anthony, and that could be the key to this one.

Chris Holtmann's undefeated team looks good, but I like North Carolina at home in this one. While I like them at +2.5, the even better bet is to take the over.
