Deepika Padukone bags award for mental health awareness

Deepika Padukone Reveals Her All-Time Favourite Cricketer

She wrote, "Watching this trailer took my breath away". I had to watch 3-4 times for it all to sink in. This film explores what it really means to survive an acid attack in Indian.

Before Katie, Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel had also praised the film's trailer.

She posted the poster of the film to her Instagram with the caption, "Rarely do you come across a story where you do not need an entire narration to decide if you want to be a part of a film or not. What is even more rare is to not be able to articulate and put into words what you feel for the film and it's journey". "I'm happy Deepika has given her face for Malti (the character) and completely let Malti take over". The pink colour went well with Deepika and she looked stunning in her overall outfit. In 2018, she was attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice, causing major damage to her face and blindness in one eye. Later, in 2009, Katie started to raise awareness about acid attack victims, and now she is an activist, writer and television presenter. The attackers are now serving life sentences. She said that irrespective of the box office business this film will always be special to her. From the heinous act taking place to the hospital, medical treatments, court tribulations, unwelcoming reactions from the society, rejection, remorse, courage, and self-acceptance, the film spans the life of real acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. "We have made it with a lot of love, passion, enthusiasm and responsibility".

We do hope the producers of Chhapaak would make a note of how sorely Ms Laxmi Aggarwal was missed at the launch function and ensure that she is asked to participate in future promotional activities for Chhapaak. She will also feature in Kabir Khan's "83" where Deepika will be essaying the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Dev in the film.

As for "Chhapaak", it is helmed by Meghna Gulzar and is produced by KA Productions & Fox Star Studios.
