Alia Bhatt breaks down while talking about her sister Shaheen Bhatts depression

Alia Bhatt played the flawless sibling to sister Shaheen Bhatt at We The Women event curated by Barkha Dutt in Mumbai on Sunday but broke down the moment she started talking about her. She said, "I felt awful as a sister". Shaheen started consoling her to which Alia replied, "I can't believe she is consoling me". Now, she has penned her journey in a book called I Have Never Been (Un) Happier.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Dharma Productions' Student of The Year 2 where she had a cameo role in a dance number. As Shaheen was seated on-stage, Alia sitting next to her cried inconsolably. The event was We The Women where these two sisters were the guests and they had to talk about the challenges they face. It was only after reading this book that Alia realised and understood the depth of her sister's battle. Sometimes, I feel like crying for no reason. The event hosted by Barkha Dutt focused on mental health where Shaheen spoke about her battles with depression.

"What makes me really emotional", Alia broke down again, and added, "I always believed that she is the most brilliant person in the family but somehow she never believed it herself". Meanwhile, the response that Shaheen received after the launch of her first book has encouraged her to come up with, Here Comes The Sun. That always broke my heart. Sharing the letter, Shaheen had penned a caption which could be read as "A note from my father written for me some twelve years ago. I do understand much better now". I'd constantly give reasons that it's because of work or maybe I'm exhausted or haven't been able to meet anyone. The kind of personality I have, I become a little on the edge.

"That makes me feel, on so many levels, so bad as a sister".

Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt, more power to you girls. A sister is that best friend who understands your unsaid emotions and supports you throughout your low phases.
