49ers: Notes from Week 13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens

Thompson The missed opportunities the loss and the heartbreak will only help the 49ers

Kicker Jason Sanders caught a touchdown pass as the Miami Dolphins saw off the Philadelphia Eagles 37-31 and Tye Smith returned a blocked field goal as the Tennessee Titans defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17. Mostert's 40-yard touchdown race came after the Ravens' consecutive touchdowns, and later acknowledged that he was fueled in part by the memory of Baltimore that freed him as a rookie of 2015.

These two teams also met each other in Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 3, 2013.

Deshaun Watson threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns and caught another in a statement performance from the 8-4 Texans.

The Seahawks and San Francisco are tied for the NFC West lead at 10-2. Honestly, as the clock ran down, I'm just hoping the ball's the spotted at the 32. Keeping Mark Ingram at 59 yards (15 carries) was commendable.

After a hard-fought, defense-first heavyweight bout, the Niners fell short once again, watching a Justin Tucker field goal sail through the uprights as time expired.

The Ravens (10-2) have the edge on New England for the AFC's top seed because of a win over the Patriots. It was third-and-one, on the SF 30-yard line: Jackson took the snap and swept left on a designed run, crossing the 28, and effectively guaranteeing the Ravens would attempt their game-winning field goal with the game's final play in regulation. Everything slowed down in the second-half which was odd. The defeat, coupled with a Seahawks win on Monday night over the Vikings, drops San Francisco from No. 1 all the way to No. 5 in the NFC playoff picture.

As for the Baltimore Ravens (10-2), they will have a big game on the road next Sunday against the Buffalo Bills (8-3).

Though the Niners now occupy the No. 1 overall seed, thanks to owning the tie-breaker (in-conference winning percentage) against the Saints, a loss in New Orleans, next Sunday, could send them straight to the Wild Card (5 or 6 seed).

How do you feel about the game between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers?
