Cris Carter is a legend when it comes to being a receiver in the National Football League and in terms of broadcasting, he has had a pretty fruitful career as well.
The issue came to a head last week, and it's possible that the last straw for Carter came from the decision to tap Reggie Bush to fill in for Terry Bradshaw last Thursday night. "There is no further comment at this time", it read.
The NFL Hall of Famer had spent three years on the morning sports show alongside Nick Wright and Jenna Wolfe, however, Carter has not been on-air since October 30, about a week before his departure was officially announced.
It led to an alleged blow-up between Carter and his bosses at FS1, according to McCarthy.
He may have been upset about not having a role on TNF, but sources said the matter at hand is more serious. Based on the report, it seems like this all stems from a beef Carter had with the higher-ups as they weren't placing him on the Thursday night football pre-game broadcasts. Front Office Sports first mentioned Carter's disdain over not being included in the pregame. Prior to joining Fox Sports, Carter appeared on HBO Sports' Inside the NFL and ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown.
Fox Sports statement: "Cris Carter is no longer with Fox Sports".
