Ayushmann Khurrana`s `Bala` mints Rs 10.5 crore on opening day

Bollywood released two films on balding men in last weeks-Bala and Ujda Chaman

His previous films like-Dream Girl, Badhaai Ho, Article 15, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Andhadhun had earned Rs 10.05 crore, 7.35 crore, Rs 5.02 crore, Rs 2.71 crore and Rs 2.42 crore, respectively on their first day at the box office. Bala had a good hype around it for its excellent trailer, and the positive reviews from the critics further gave a push to its day 1 box office collection. It's already being expected to change into Ayushmann's third Rs 100 crore hit.

He shared a amusing picture of a bald man riding a bicycle as he crosses the Bala poster, captured just in time when the man's bald head replaces that of Ayushmann's on the poster. "Thanks for the love", he captioned a picture of a man on a cycle, rushing past a poster of the film.

Moreover, with Bala's Day 1 box office earnings, this Ayushmann Khurrana's film has become his career's highest opener.


"With Bala, we are sending out some really strong and powerful social messages in the most entertaining manner possible and I'm delighted that the film has instantly connected with audiences on day one", Ayushmann told IANS.

Jio Studios & Dinesh Vijan's Bala, A Maddock Films production released in theatres on November 8. The film also features Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam, both of them has worked previously with Khurrana in Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) and Vicky Donor (2012). Now according to trade expert Taran Adarsh, Bala has collected 15.73 crores on its second day, with that the total collection of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer in two days has reached to 25.88 crores.
