While WhatsApp is offered to both iOS and Android users, anyone belonging to the latter group looking to install the app today might have felt like they were going insane.
New Delhi, Oct 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) At least 15 apps on Google Play Store were found to be engaging in generating frequent, large, and intrusive ads and hiding their app icons in the launcher to make it hard for users to find and remove them, security researchers at global cyber security major Sophos said on Wednesday. However, this doesn't mean that you can not download the WhatsApp for Android officially from Google Play.
"Users are now reporting that the Facebook-owned instant chat messenger app no longer appears on the Play Store search results", MSPoweruser reported. But, to the surprise of many, users, who had previously installed the app, could still spot the app in their "Previously installed app" section on the Google Play Store. Interestingly enough, users who are now using WhatsApp are facing an exact similar issue - on searching the Play Store, the only app they are seeing is WhatsApp for Business. The connection? Both WhatsApp and Instagram share the same corporate parent, Facebook. However, the app is still available through "My app & games", but while searching for Whatsapp on google play store, it doesn't show the app in the search results.
