Meghan Markle, Prince Harry to spend Archie's first Thanksgiving in LA

Tom Bradby and their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in South Africa

Speaking to news journalist Tom Bradby in the new documentary Harry and Meghan An African Journey, the Duchess admitted she was naive in underestimating the power of the British press.

DON'T MISSMeghan Markle is "existing not living" under intense glare as a royal Meghan Markle interview: The sweet gesture Meghan made for her Amer. "But as I said, the role and the job and the pressures that come with that, I get reminded of the bad stuff, unfortunately".

"But my British friends said to me, "I'm sure he's great but you shouldn't do it because the British tabloids will destroy your life".

"I'll always be there for him and as I know, he'll always be there for me". "And then when you have a newborn, you know". The entire time - before their wedding and long after their baby was born - the pair have been constantly hounded by paparazzi, written about in the media and have been the subjects of supposed exposes.

Markle's proceedings against the Mail on Sunday newspaper are over the publication of a private letter that her lawyers said was "unlawful" and part of a "campaign by this media group to publish false and deliberately derogatory stories about her".

While Harry said it was an honour to continue his mother's work, he said it's also a painful reminder of her death.

"I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair".

Calling the meeting "huge and significant", Meghan said in the new documentary: "I think Archie will look back on that in so many years and that right from the beginning of his life, he was fortunate enough to have this moment with one of the best and most impactful leaders of our time". That's not the point of life. It's rich in history but also just the optimism, the hope that you feel.

"So everything that she (Diana) went through, and what happened to her, is incredibly important every single day, and that is not me being paranoid, that is just me not wanting a repeat of the past". "And that's different than just scrutiny".

When Bradby asked if she could confirm she was "not really ok" and if it really "has been a struggle", she responded with a simple "Yes".

We don't see each other as much as we used to as we are so busy.

It's "a wound that festers"..."every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash", the Prince explained.

She added that the special meeting with Tutu will always be an important moment.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about their little boy's cute traits when they introduced their five-month-old son to Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter, Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe, during their trip to Cape Town last month.
