His publicist Kathie Berlin said he died on Friday of brain cancer at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his family, reports The Guardian. He recently featured in an action crime drama film which hit screens in the United States on Friday (12th October).
Forster was most recently seen in Netflix's Breaking Bad epilogue El Camino, reprising a small but pivotal role that he played in the show towards its end in 2013.
"I never forgot how kind and generous he was to a young kid just starting out in Hollywood", Cranston wrote. "Everything you do in life is superfluous compared to that", he said in the Tribune interview.
Other works that he was famous for include Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks. "I was taking whatever fell through the cracks".
"Seriously. I got lucky every step of the way", he said. He said he loved trying out comedy as Tim Allen's father in Last Man Standing. He had appeared in the wildly popular Breaking Bad series.
According to Variety, Forster is survived by partner Denise Grayson and his four children and four grandchildren.
