According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Cincinnati believes Anderson suffered a torn ACL in the same knee during the team's final preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Luck retired a week earlier after a 27-17 loss to Chicago, frustrated by his inability to get healthy. With his departure, Jacoby Brissett is the only quarterback on Indianapolis' roster with an National Football League start.
Brissett had a lot of company as he watched from the sideline Thursday.
For the Colts, it was a chance to assess Brissett's backups. Phillip Walker came in for the second half, going 8-for-16 for 90 yards, adding seven more yards on one rush.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell (hamstring) had been struggling with his injury throughout training camp and the preseason. His 31-yard catch and run set up Kelly's touchdown scramble. It was Anderson's second game of the preseason and was three weeks after he was cleared to practice. Jake Dolegala played the entire game and was 28 of 43 for 254 yards. He eventually limped off the field, but was ruled out for the rest of the game.
