Olivia Colman takes over as Queen Elizabeth in trailer for The Crown

New The Crown Season 3 Teaser Trailer with Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II

And she is the first to cop to it, in a new teaser for Season 3 of Netflix's acclaimed The Crown.

While Claire Foy left a strong impression on audiences with her turn as Queen Elizabeth II, Colman is one of the best actresses working today and I'm eager to see her put her stamp on this character. As Her Majesty surveys a newly commissioned portrait photo - comparing it to an old one - there is light debate about whether she has gone from young woman to "old bat"... or (ahem) "settled sovereign"? Perhaps Helen Mirren will be keen on reprising her turn from The Queen? "Nothing one can do about it, one just has to get on with it", declares the Queen.

Season three of The Crown premieres November 17 only on Netflix.

The whole cast has been updated as well, with Tobias Menzies stepping into Matt Smith's shoes as Prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter taking over as Princess Margaret from Vanessa Kirby. Prince Charles and Princess Anne will also grow older with Josh O'Connor and Erin Doherty filling in those roles.

The new season of The Crown, arriving almost two years after season two, will take place in the 1970s.

The new preview is the first time fans have had the chance to see the 45-year-old Oscar victor speak in her role as Queen Elizabeth.

It will have been nearly two years since the last outing of "The Crown" on Netflix, with the royal drama completely recasting as the story moves on to later in Queen Elizabeth's reign.

The Queen and her adviser reference the many changes that Britain will endure in 1960s and 70s as it faces the Cold War panic and the space age.
