Missing Texas teen Ryder Cambron 'orchestrated' her own disappearance

Ryder Cambron

Missing Texas teen, Ryder Cambron, was found safe in Dobbin, Texas, officials said in an update late on September 18.

Then teen "intentionally" left the off-road vehicle and her phone in the park and went with the boy to a home in Dobbin, according to the sheriff's office.

"Due to the diligence and hard work of detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, we are pleased to report that Ryder Skye Cambron has been safely located in Dobbin, Texas".

Cambron was not injured, and she was released into the custody of her parents.

Agencies involved in what authorities called an "exhausting search" including the Montgomery County Constable Precinct 5, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Texas Department of Public Safety, United States Customs and Border Protection, Montgomery County Search and Rescue, many concerned citizens and media partners, the Montgomery Sheriff's press release says. As soon as an update is available, it will be posted online.

The search for Ryder continues, according to police.

In a odd twist, a sheriff's office news release said that she "orchestrated her disappearance" with a male teen.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday night that they had located Ryder just 12 miles away in the nearby town of Dobbin.

Cabron's disappearance Tuesday night sparked a massive response from law enforcement, family, friends and the community who scoured the area looking for the missing teen. She was found in a wooded area and is in police care, authorities said. The teen's family had found her ATV and cell phone at a park inside the subdivision where the family lives. Detectives are looking into all possible scenarios surrounding her disappearance. She said she was not injured while she was staying in the home.

Investigators have advised against well-intentioned citizens forming private search parties.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in the woods near a park.

Anyone with information regarding Ryder's whereabouts is asked to contact the MCSO at 936-760-5800.
