The European champions defeated MK Dons 2-0 in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, courtesy of goals from James Milner and Ki-Jana Hoever. Playing at left-back in Milton Keynes, he looked as good as he ever has.

But it was the performance of 18-year-old Scouser Curtis Jones which caught his eye.

Senior Liverpool star James Milner has lavished praised on youngster Curtis Jones, claiming he has taken "massive steps" in the last 12 months.
