Florida could see Tropical Storm Humberto later this week

Personnel from the Royal Bahamas Police Force remove a body recovered in a destroyed neighborhood in the wake of Hurricane Dorian in Marsh Harbour Great Abaco Bahamas

The good news? This tropical wave is still battling wind shear & land interaction with Hispaniola. High pressure will rebuild tomorrow and Friday dropping the rain chances, and temperatures will soar into the mid 90s once again.

How far north those cooler temperatures reach is still in question depending on the system's track, but the weather service in Birmingham said rain chances could increase for central Alabama from Sunday through Tuesday.

We are now tracking three tropical waves.

An area of showers and thunderstorms is located around the southeastern Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos.

Tropical-storm-force wind gusts have been reported in some of the heavier squalls.

By Sunday, the disturbance will be west or northwest of Florida with maybe some lingering effects.

A tropical depression could form as the system moves through the Florida Straits where environmental conditions are expected to become more favorable for tropical transformation this weekend.

The first is located in the mid-Atlantic, 650 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Both had low chances of development as of Wednesday morning.

Limited development of this disturbance is expected during the next few days mainly because of upper-level winds.

The other system, still in the middle of the Atlantic, has a slightly better chance of developing into a tropical storm. These conditions favor the growth of tropical waves that frequently march across the Atlantic in mid to late September which seed developing tropical cyclones.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center had Gabrielle moving northeast at 29 miles per hour with sustained winds of 50 miles per hour. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has now designated this as Invest 95-L and the development chances have been increased to 40% within next 3-5 days as system moves into the Gulf of Mexico by Friday-Saturday.
