Brick of cocaine washes up on Florida beach from Hurricane Dorian waves

Hurricane Dorian grows in size, coasting along Florida tonight

About 15 miles south of Cocoa Beach, another brick of cocaine was found at Paradise Beach and Park in Melbourne, Florida, NBC News reports. On Friday local time (Saturday NZT) the week prior, a duffle bag filled with cocaine washed up on nearby Cocoa Beach in Florida.

Melbourne police were now investigating the brick that had a word beginning with DIAMANT on the packaging.

Melbourne officers were called to the beach and removed the drugs.

Spokesperson for the Cocoa Beach Police Department, Manny Hernandez, told the news outlet "there is a possibility that more will come onshore". "Once the investigation is over, it [brick of cocaine] will be destroyed". "We then contacted the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)".

Dozens of kilos of cocaine are washing onto Florida's beaches as Dorian heads toward Georgia and the Carolinas.

Fox 35 is reaching out to the Melbourne Police Department for more details.

"There were 15 bricks of cocaine found in that duffel bag", Hernandez told Newsweek.

Dorian is heading north northeast at about eight miles an hour almost parallel to the coast about 100 miles east of Daytona Beach, according to WESH-TV. Police said the suspicious deliveries have started to show up on Florida beaches in the wake of the deadly storm.

According to estimations made by authorities, one kilo of cocaine is worth between $20,000 and $30,000, meaning Tuesday's beachfront haul could be worth in excess of $400,000.

"We are lucky", Mall said Wednesday, speaking for the City of Melbourne.
