A young man in India has pushed his brand-new BMW into a river in an apparent protest against his parents' refusal to buy him a Jaguar for his birthday.
Akash pushed the new vehicle into a river and dramatic footage shot on Friday shows the white BMW drifting down the river in Haryana, Northern India.
He enlisted the help of some local divers who worked to pull the auto back to dry land.
But he was unhappy with the auto, say local police, because it was too small for him and his mates. The BMW eventually got stuck on a patch of grass in the middle of the river, causing Akash to jump into the water to go after it. Police also said the parents claim the man has an undisclosed mental issue.
The BMW costs around 3.5 million rupees ($49,000) in India, while the Jaguars are considerably higher priced.
The police said that there is no criminal case to pursue.
