Trailer drops for Star Wars series The Mandalorian on Disney+

D23 Expo 2019 Avengers Campus and Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Revealed

There's been a lot of excitement building up over The Mandalorian the past few days. And though we haven't seen too much from the series just yet, the ongoing D23 has now brought us the very first trailer for The Mandalorian.

Season 7 got a new trailer during SDCC this year, revealing the different plotlines that this final season of the show will cover.

We'll also see Experimental Unit Clone Force 99-a group of Clone Commandos nicknamed the "Bad Batch" for their mutated DNA that grant them the enhanced abilities that allow them to fight with unorthodox tactics and tech-as well as the return of Separatist Admiral Trench. But if the footage is any indication, the Mandalorian isn't afraid to take on the Imperial remnant.

There's something delightfully spine-tingling about hearing Herzog's voiceover in that - "Bounty hunting is a complicated profession. don't you agree?"

Star Wars released the first official trailer for The Mandalorian starring Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano at D23!

Pascal and Favreau previously shared some details about the upcoming series back in April at the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago. There's also Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Taika Waititi.

The Star Wars film universe, meanwhile, will continue to expand with two new trilogies - one from the Game of Thrones creators DB Weiss and David Benioff, due to begin in late 2022, and another from Rian Johnson, director of The Last Jedi.

Written by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian is set a few years after Return of the Jedi - and thus the fall of the Empire, which is clearly illustrated by a bunch of Stormtrooper helmets on spikes.
