Giants rookie QB Daniel Jones has another strong performance vs Bengals

Giants vs. Bengals Player of the Game Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones has looked great through three preseason games, which has given the New York Giants a renewed sense of confidence. Jones' impressive preseason could put a lot of pressure on Manning to play well early this season, or else he could lose his starting job and not get it back. He's steadily getting better every time he takes the field. He clearly left the possibility open that Jones could get the start against the Cowboys.

The Giants have faced criticism since April for selecting the former Duke quarterback with the sixth overall pick, but Shurmur went on to question Jones' critics. "Like I've said many times before, I don't feel I have trouble beating people; I just think I wasn't getting there fast enough".

The Giants open the regular season September 8 against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

Jones has surpassed all expectations in his three preseason performances, going 25-of-30 for 369 yards and two touchdowns in the Giants' three wins over the Jets, Bears and Bengals.

He has looked great both in training camp and in preseason action the first two games and hasadmirably handled all the media attention and pressure that naturally comes with being a franchise QB in NY.
