Feds Subpoena as Many as 20 Workers at Epstein Prison
The lawsuits were filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan by anonymous women listed in court documents as Katlyn, Lisa and Priscilla Doe. The judge would have to decide how much they should get and whether to reduce the amounts given to Epstein's named beneficiaries, who would also be given their say in court.
The allegation that he kept on preying on women even as he had to report to jail every night added yet another disturbing twist to the story, underscoring what his accusers have always been saying - that his 13-month stint behind bars, worked out in a secret agreement with federal prosecutors, was a sham.
Jeffrey Epstein, the well-connected financier accused of orchestrating a sex-trafficking ring, had been taken off suicide watch before he killed himself in a NY jail, a person familiar with the matter said today.
At the time, Epstein was serving an 18-month prison sentence at the Palm Beach County Jail after pleading guilty to state prostitution charges.
On her first visit, the lawsuit said, she was sexually assaulted during a massage.
The lawsuits said Epstein had Katlyn and Priscilla flown to Florida so he could continue to abuse them even while he was on work release from jail, while he made Katlyn feel dependent by promising to pay for medical treatment she needed.
As many as 20 correctional officers who work at the federal detention centre where Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide received grand jury subpoenas last week relating to an investigation into his death, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
"Jeffrey Epstein, through his brazen and powerful organization, was quite literally able to commit federal sex trafficking offenses at his work release office, during his jail sentence".
Accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein signed a will just two days before his suicide and placed more than $577 million in assets into a trust fund that could potentially make it harder for his accusers to collect damages.
Ms Roberts alleged in court papers in Florida that she was forced to have sex with Andrew when she was 17, which is under the age of consent in the state.
Rodgers also claimed that Prince Andrew was on the maiden flight of Epstein's "Lolita Express"- a Boeing 727-200 passenger jet allegedly used to traffic underage girls to his island- on August 7, 2001.
The lawsuit said the woman was "very poor" and eager to support her mother when she agreed to provide Epstein massages in return for hundreds of dollars.
