Colts now turn to Jacoby Brissett as starting QB

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is planning to retire according to a report from ESPN.

According to the report, Luck already met with Colts' owner Jim Irsay to tell him that he is retiring. He has yet to make an appearance this preseason while dealing with a lingering lower leg issue - one that started out with a calf injury though morphed into an ankle issue. "No, but we think we have, so we'll move forward and try to treat it".

Luck, who will turn 30 next month, has been voted to the Pro Bowl after four of his five full seasons with the Colts. Though the team remained optimistic about his return - and wanted to name a starter following the game this week - Luck has apparently made up his mind. But the following day, Ballard said new tests determined the soreness was coming from the front of the ankle.

The 29-year-old quarterback was the No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft out of Stanford.

The Colts will not play New England during the 2019 regular season.

Chiefs superhero quarterback Patrick Mahomes and friends repel Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck in the National Football League playoffs. He missed all of 2017 after undergoing right shoulder surgery but bounced back last season to pass for 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a career-best 98.7 passer rating. GM Chris Ballard had built the team around the franchise quarterback, and while Luck's lack of participation in practice was alarming, he was expected to play this season.
