CNN Host Chris Cuomo Threatens Man Who Called Him 'Fredo'

NEW YORK NEW YORK- MAY 15 Anderson Cooper of CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360° and Chris Cuomo of CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time attend the Warner Media Upfront 2019 arrivals on the red carpet at The Theater at Madison Square Garden

At issue is Chris Cuomo and a video that has gone widely gone viral that depicts the CNN primetime anchor going off on an individual who appeared to be hectoring him and his family while they were hanging out at what appears to be the outdoor hotel/bar Sunset Beach in Shelter Island, New York.

CNN stood by their host, with spokesperson Matt Dornic apparently confirming that it was Cuomo in the viral video while saying that he "defended himself when he was verbally attacked with the use of an ethnic slur in an orchestrated setup". "We completely support him".

Unlikely though it may sound, TTP says that the man featured in the video did not know Cuomo's real name as he heard of him only through The Rush Limbaugh show, who repeatedly referred to Cuomo as "Fredo".

Hannity, a long-time critic of CNN, defended Cuomo after he was filmed threatening to beat up a man-believed to be Donald Trump supporter-after he called him a "Fredo", saying his fellow news host has "zero to apologize for".

Back on the video, when things grew more heated, Cuomo said he would resort to violence, threatening to "fucking throw you down these stairs like a fucking punk". My name is Chris Cuomo.

That argument seems to only add fuel to the fire of Cuomo's anger, who switches up to physical threats.

The man told Cuomo he "doesn't want to do that", and Cuomo responded: "Take a swing at me".

"If you've got something to say about what I do on television, then say it, but you don't have to call me a f--in' insult", Cuomo continued. "Own what you said".

Cuomo announced Monday afternoon that "Cuomo Prime Time" would be back on-air next week.

"I'll f--ing ruin your sh-t, man", Cuomo tells him.

But the part of the "Fredo" dig that may have really ticked off Cuomo the most was the parallels to other aspects of the characters, including being the son and brother of powerful Italian men. Cuomo was particularly put off by the name and the underlying meaning of being called that.

"I assume @cnn not available for comment", tweeted Donald Trump Jr., who shared the video. You called me Fredo. Fredo is a term from The Godfather, referring to the dumb brother.
