Wimbledon semi-final, Nadal-Federer

Novak Djokovic

Federer, who won 4-6 6-1 6-4 6-4 and now faces Rafa Nadal in a mouthwatering contest, was so poor in the first set that the eighth-seeded Nishikori may have felt the 37-year-old Swiss's advancing years had finally caught up with him. Last year, he was beaten in five sets by Djokovic in the semifinals.

It was the second time this week he had been to the All England Club to watch Federer.

Federer is aiming for his 21st Grand Slam title, while Nadal (18) and Djokovic (15) look to close the gap. Federer has won two of their three previous encounters in this spot.

Both Nadal and Federer have played impressively at Wimbledon 2019 and it seems very likely that we are in store for a classic match.

Last month, Nadal got his shot at Federer on red clay, winning their wind-whipped French Open semifinal in straight sets on the way to a 12th title there.

"I get it's so hard to do, but you have to try".

The pair are set to get underway on Centre Court at 3:00pm United Kingdom time, with live coverage on the BBC in the United Kingdom and ESPN in the USA, though the start time may be pushed back depending on events in the first semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Roberto Bautista Agut.

Nadal's victory meant it was the first time more than one Spanish man had reached the Wimbledon semis in the same year.

"I played against a very talented player today who made some big wins this tournament, and definitely has a potential to reach big heights in tennis because he's got quite an all-around game", Djokovic said of the 28-year-old, according to the official ATP website.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have set up a highly anticipated semifinal clash at Wimbledon, a first meeting between the two since their marathon 2008 final.

The last time the present "Big Three" of tennis was in the last four round of Wimbledon was during Wimbledon 2007 and back then, Novak Djokovic was Slam-less. Nadal's return game has never been better too. So, yet again at a major it's the same trio plus one in the semi finals, with Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer still in contention, along with Roberto Bautista Agut.

"It's a great feeling to be back in the semifinals", Nadal told reporters.

Federer said he was unaware that he had become the first man to claim 100 wins at the same Slam.

But Federer quickly turned things around in the second, conjuring up whatever he wanted, exactly when he wanted it.

If forced to identify a favorite, Nadal gets the slightest nod. He has been just terrific in this tournament.

In order to watch a Rafa Nadal vs Roger Federer live stream you must have a funded Bet365 account or to have placed a bet in the last 24 hours. In the past two seasons Nadal has pulled out of ten tournaments with knee, hip, stomach and ankle problems. Only in NY we didn´t play. Nadal, though, has looked dominant at Wimbledon, dropping only one set. "I know people always hype it up in a big way", said 20-time major victor Federer. Excited about this match, excited about this opportunity to be again in that round against him.

"He may need to, because as far as their current form goes, Nadal may have the edge".

There's very little to separate the two rivals but bookmakers lean towards Nadal. This one is on Federer's territory: grass.

Odds on the match to be decided in three or four sets are 6/4, while a five-setter is now at 9/4.

"Well, " the 31-year-old Bautista Agut said, "it feels better to be here in London".
