Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims that Nancy Pelosi is deliberately inciting death threats

Clay, a long-term member of the Congressional Black Caucus, argued Thursday that Ocasio-Cortez and her allies were speaking out, because "they didn't get their way" after a days-long clash between the old guard of the Democratic leadership and "the squad" emerged into public view.

"[Ocasio-Cortez] should treat Nancy Pelosi with respect", the president continued.

"God, it totally resonates with me, absolutely", she told Politico.

"I think the speaker is doing a hell of job under some very trying and tough circumstances", Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.) said.

"I believe that Pelosi is a good leader and one that has the ability to bring all sides together", he said.

Ocasio-Cortez responded in an interview with The Washington Post: "When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm's distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood, " she said.

Ocasio-Cortez said Wednesday that Speaker Pelosi was not only "outright disrespectful" to the new lawmakers, but suggested the criticism was racist.

Iran has said its breaches of the nuclear pact can be reversed if the other parties to the agreement - Germany, France, Britain, China, Russia and the European Union - can come up with enough economic incentives to effectively offset the American sanctions.

In a joint statement on Friday, a coalition of progressive advocacy groups led by Win Without War and CREDO Action said, "Congress must continue using every available tool at its disposal to ensure that Donald Trump and John Bolton's march to war is fully blocked".
