Omar Caught Embellishing Story Used To Smear US Justice System

Rep. Ilhan Omar D-Minn. speaks at the 2019 Essence Festival at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on Saturday

Omar is now at the age of only 36, one of the most powerful women in America. "No lies will stamp out my love for this country or my resolve to make our union more flawless".

Fox News Senior Executive Producer Justin Wells in a statement to Newsmax said: "Anyone who values democracy and free expression should be gravely concerned when members of Congress demand that their critics be silenced". Rather than limit the segment to a response to her comments, Carlson dedicated more than 20 minutes of his hour-long show to taking down Omar, with three separate guests weighing in. She scolded us and called us names.

"Patetico! You know they're just salty about World Health Organization is wielding the power to shift 'public sentiment" these days, sis, ' Omar tweeted at the Speaker.

In the segment, aired on Tuesday night, he described her as "living proof that the way we practice immigration has become risky to this country" and "a living fire alarm".

The Washington Post reported that Omar recently told 400 Richfield High School students that she was sent to the courts to report on problems for a Minneapolis city councilman five years ago.

Carlson was apparently referencing a recent Washington Post profile that quoted Omar as telling high school students, "I grew up in an extremely unjust society, and the only thing that made my family excited about coming to the United States was that the United States was supposed to be the country that guaranteed justice to all". The woman convicted of the crime "might have had a prior [arrest]", Omar said.

Early last month, Omar was ordered to repay her former campaign committee almost $3,500 for using campaign money to pay for personal travel and help with her tax returns. Instead, it was the country that had failed to live up to its founding ideals, a place that had disappointed her and so many immigrants, refugees and minorities like her, ' end quote. That should worry you and not just because Omar is now a sitting Member of Congress. "Some of the very people we try hardest to help have come to hate us passionately", he continued, which CNN media commentator Brian Stelter described as an "extraordinary leap" from Omar's comments to the Post.

"Maybe that's our fault, for asking too little of our immigrants", he says.

Carlson also offered comments supportive of immigrants and Omar's rise to Congress. We aren't self-confident enough to make them assimilate so they never feel fully American.

"Maybe we are importing people from places who are simply antithetical to ours", he said, describing Omar.

"No country can import large numbers of people who hate it and expect to survive", he warned.

Omar, who fled civil war in Somalia with her family in 1991 and spent four years in a refugee camp in Kenya before arriving in the USA as a child under a resettlement program and making history when she was elected to Congress last year, responded to Carlson on Twitter. She's a living fire alarm.
