Nintendo Switch Updates NES Games, Retro Games Getting a Rewind Feature

Nintendo Switch Online Will The Official Nintendo Site Anticipate Free May NES Games

Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online NES library, later this month, along with a brand new Rewind feature which can be accessed throughout the NES games collection, Nintendo announced. From July 17, all NES games will get a rewind feature, which allows players to rewind time as the video below demonstrates. As for the new feature, the "Rewind" feature is exactly what it sounds like.

In a move possibly created to allow more than 17 people in the world to finish Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Nintendo is adding a rewind feature to NES games on the Switch. Stay wired in for when the update drops.

The Rewind features will arrive alongside Donkey Kong 3 and The Wrecking Crew on July 17.

On Tuesday night, Nintendo revealed two more games set to come to the Nintendo Switch Online library.

While we'll never begrudge new functionality, Nintendo Switch Online continues to be a disappointment.

It should make some of the more challenging titles in the NES catalogue a heck of a lot easier, but the system is entirely optional if you'd rather put your old-school skills to the test.

The limited-time Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers offer ends on July 31, so anyone interested can visit https://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/special-offers/ for more information. Armed only with a can of bug spray, Stanley must force Donkey Kong higher and higher into the greenhouse rafters until Donkey Kong is off the screen and the next stage is reached. Nintendo plans to develop and "improve" Nintendo Switch Online in the future, but no other information is yet accessible.

Also, everyone who buys an Individual 12-Month Membership or a Family Membership to Nintendo Switch Online will receive a download code for exclusive in-game Splatoon 2 gear, based on the jerseys worn by the team that won the Splatoon 2 World Championship during E3 2018.
