National Football League supplemental draft time, rules and Bengals outlook

Lions checked out supplemental draft prospect Marcus Simms pro day

Teams can bid on these players using draft picks from the following year. After all, this team is pretty set with tons of young players all over the roster and doesn't have many holes to fill-at least not holes that can be filled in this manner.

The 5-foot-10, 186-pounder played three seasons for the Cougars, earning Freshman All-American honors and being named Second Team All Pac-12 as a sophomore.

Another note from the supplemental draft is that wide receiver Marcus Simms, who went undrafted, is signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Pelissero.

Thompson seemed to be in line for a big season at Washington State after being a three-year starter, however, after testing positive for a banned substance he said he bought over the counter, he declared for the Supplemental draft. But there have been some high-profile ones over the years, including the Cleveland Browns grabbing wide receiver Josh Gordon in 2012 and the Oakland Raiders grabbing then-quarterback Terrelle Pryor in 2011. Rosenbach did not declare for the NFL Draft before its deadline and thus joined a pool of five players who were taken in the 1989 Supplemental Draft. It remains to be seen if there's pro bowl level talent that will come out of this year's class, but it's always a possibility.

Kick off your Wednesday with the latest Baltimore Ravens news.

Simms ended up going undrafted, which made him a free agent. Simms is a speedy wideout that entered the supplemental draft after getting denied a transfer request.

Scouting report: At 6-0 and around 195 pounds, Simms has decent size and a somewhat skinny but athletic build. Attending a workout and using a draft pick on a player are two different things, but the possibility is there.

The Arizona Cardinals selected Washington State safety Jalen Thompson in the fifth round of the National Football League supplemental draft Wednesday. The Cardinals will forfeit their fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft as a result of Thompson's selection.

Green Bay already used a first-round pick in April on Maryland safety Darnell Savage, who's poised to start as a rookie.
