Lotus’ electrical hypercar is named ‘Evija

British sports vehicle maker Lotus has revealed that its forthcoming, all-electric model, hitherto known as the Type 130, will be named Evija, it has confirmed.

The Lotus Evija will be unveiled in full in London later this month. There is also a new teaser video showing off the center console and buttons of the Evija.

Keeping with Lotus" tradition of giving its cars names beginning with the letter E, the Evija, pronounced "ev-eye-a', is Lotus' first product since 2010's Evora.

Previously, the project was known as the "Type 130" - alluding to the 130 cars that will eventually be built.

The most ambitious vehicle in this company's history will be shown at an exclusive event in Central London on July 16, just a few months after the project was announced. The organization is at long last taking "a few" of the wraps off of its first significant model launch - and its first electric hypercar - under the new ownership of Geely.

Lotus has chosen the Goodwood Festival of Speed to reveal the name of its new all-electric hypercar, and is calling on fans to visit its stand for an exclusive glimpse.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) is a celebration of all that is great with the history of cars and motorsports.

"It will re-establish our brand on the global automotive stage and pave the way for further visionary models". It's the nearly mythical Type 25/R6 Formula One racer, which is the actual auto in which legend Jim Clark set the best ever time of 1:20.4 for a lap of the Goodwood circuit.
