Halep won her first Grand Slam past year at the French Open and adds the Venus Rosewater Dish to her trophy case with a match where she committed just three unforced errors, compared to 25 by the seven-time Wimbledon champion Williams. If Williams wins this one, she will equal Margaret Court's record for most Grand Slam singles titles.

Djokovic's semifinal victory was his 71st match win at Wimbledon, tying him with former coach Boris Becker for the third-most such wins by a man in the Open Era.

A quick study of their rivalry would also suggest Williams will probably be the one holding aloft the Venus Rosewater dish considering she has won nine of their previous 10 meetings.

Williams has dropped just two sets so far in the tournament, one of which came in the quarterfinal against Alison Riske. Also, playing on the Centre Court or reaching the finals of Wimbledon are considered to be an ultimate achievement in a tennis player's career, but tennis world demands something more than that, and its always a privilege etch your name on Wimbledon's victor board. "Can't underestimate her. She's like a little powerhouse".

"I just trained and I trained and I trained to get physically more fit".

Plus, Williams enters her 11th final at the All England Club well aware that she has lost her past two championship matches at Grand Slam tournaments - against Angelique Kerber at Wimbledon and against Naomi Osaka at the U.S. Open, both in 2018.

"I will focus on myself. Yeah, I feel really calm about it". It's just a tennis match, big challenge, a great match. "I just needed some matches. Many of them were very close", she said.

Already 3-0 down after eight minutes, Williams was completely at sea and by the time Halep served to lead 4-0 Williams had won just six points. I respect a lot what she has done and what she's doing. - Roger Federer talking about having a winning mentality. She's a top-notch defender and as determined as Rafael Nadal to play every point to the bitter end, which will hopefully make for a competitive final.

She let out a long yell at the ground when she won a point on her serve and another on the next point.

For Williams, the quest will continue for Grand Slam title No. 24.

"I was trying to tap into those emotions", said Williams. "It's just about going out there and giving my best effort, no matter what".
