Chelsea youngster Mount signs new five-year contract

Mount has been at Chelsea for the last 14 years and has underlined him aspirations to be a stalwart at Stamford Bridge for years to come.

Friday's clash with Kawasaki will be the third game of Lampard's tenure, with Chelsea having secured a win and a draw during two pre-season matches in Ireland last week. Now that the player has signed a permanent contract with the Pensioners and is set to start fresh under new manager Lampard, he insists that the one thing he desires to learn the most from his manager is the art of scoring goals.

Under the tutelage of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, the Englishman turned out 44 times for the Rams, with a solid return of 11 goals and 6 assists.


Lampard will also rely on World Cup winning French midfielder N'Golo Kante to bring energy and experience to his Chelsea side. Mount's decision comes after another English youngster in Loftus Cheek committed his long term deal with the Blues. Callum Hudson-Odoi is also believed to be on their agenda, but the teenage prodigy continues to be heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

Sarri impressed during his 12-month stint at Chelsea FC after the controversial Italian coach led the Blues to a third-placed finish as well as glory in the Europa League.

On signing his new deal, the England U21 global said: 'It's a massively proud moment for myself and my family. "I've been at the club for a long time already and hopefully I'll stay for a long time to come", the 20 year-old added.

Lampard has already told Mount he will be staying at Chelsea, rather than being loaned out again, and he has started pre-season well by scoring in the friendly victory over St Patrick's at the weekend.
