Borderlands 3 to Feature a Ping System ala Apex Legends

Borderlands 3 will have a ping system similar to Apex Legends, among other accessibility features

There are also some other accessibility features planned for the game that should make it easier for far more people to play. You're on your own so you'll have to take out your friends. This new mechanic will help making playing Borderlands 3 with a friend even more streamlined.

A new mode introduced to the series will see players go head to head in a 1v1v1v1 competitive multiplayer experience.

The panel also revealed more details about Borderlands 3's ECHOcast Twitch extension.

Borderlands 3 will also feature a "full suite of accessibility options", which will allow players to play any way they want. In other words, it lets you highlight important things like hostiles, good loot and objectives. If certain conditions are met Twitch viewers can spawn events in a streamer's game. The ability to remap controls will be worked into the game, enabling players to assign commands and actions as they see fit. While this system is used extremely frequently in Apex Legends and will no doubt be used extensively in Borderlands 3, there is already some issues I have with it. There will be visual options for players who are affected by colour blindness, there will be auto-aim options, headbobs can be toggled, and there will be closed captioning included too. At Guardian Con in Orlando, Florida, the developer detailed its latest addition to co-operative play: a brand new pinging system! Players will be able to ping enemies, chests, guns, and other points of interest.

Borderlands 3 is now under development by Gearbox Software and will be published by 2K Games offering both single player and multiplayer modes in an action role-playing game built on the Unreal Engine 4.

Borderlands 3 will launch worldwide on PS4, Xbox One and PC on the Epic Games store September 13, 2019 (additional PC digital storefronts in April 2020).
