Blue Jackets' Milano, Avs' Greer arrested in NY brawl

NHL players A.J. Greer Sonny Milano arrested on assault charges report says

The altercation allegedly occurred at an apartment on W Houston St in Greenwich Village, listed as the players' address, and is believed to have been over a nightclub bill at 1 Oak in Chelsea.

Police sources told the New York Post that the two players had been out at a Manhattan night club when a dispute over a bar tab led them to beat up a third man.

Sonny Milano, a forward with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and A.J. Greer, a winger for the Colorado Avalanche, were arrested in NY for the dust-up. Angered, the duo reportedly fought the man who promised them a lower tab and left him with injuries to his neck, bicep, jaw and ribs. He refused medical assistance but went to the police.

The 23-year-old Milano, a left wing, is a NY native who has 24 career points (15 goals, nine assists).

Greer, 22, and Milano, 23, were arrested and each charged with assault, according to the report.

Milano was a first-round draft pick of the Blue Jackets in 2014.

Milano, the No. 16 overall selection in the 2014 National Hockey League draft, has played just 70 games over four seasons with the Blue Jackets. "We are reviewing the situation and will not be commenting further at this time", the statement read.

National Hockey League last season marked Milano playing eight matches for Columbus and scoring one goal. Greer was a second-round pick out of Boston University in 2015.
