Angelina Jolie Makes Surprise Comic-Con Appearance With 'The Eternals' Cast
So while it wasn't surprising to see the film made official at Marvel Studios' 2019 Comic-Con panel, it's still exciting to see such a unusual superhero team make its way to the big screen. The cast took the stage soon after Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed the film.
"I just wanted to make a Marvel movie for so long!"
Eternals will be released November 6, 2020 directed by Chloe Zhao starring Angelina Jolie (Thena), Richard Madden (Icarus), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Bryan Tyree Henry (Phastos), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Lia McHugh (Sprite), and Don Lee (Gilgamesh).
Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ended this summer with "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and "Avengers: Endgame". Other than that, there have only been guesses as to who would be in the movie. Director Chloe Zhao added, "Through their journey, we really get to explore what it means to be human".
Angelina Jolie also said: "I'm so excited to be here". "We've all read the script and we know what the task is and so we are going to work very, very hard".
The Eternals follows "super-powered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals and a more monstrous off-shoot known as the Deviants that were created by the cosmic beings called Celestials".
Game of Thrones' Richard Madden will play Ikaris, with Ma Dong-Sek (also known as Don Lee) cast as Gilgamesh.
