Transfer: Real Madrid sign another striker after Hazard

Takefusa Kubo

- When does the transfer window close? They have now completed a deal for their sixth new player - Japan worldwide Takefusa Kubo.

The midfielder will join Real Madrid Castilla, the club's reserve team.

"Takefusa Kubo (06/04/2001, Kanagawa, Japan) will reinforce Castilla next season".

Real Madrid have signed former Barcelona youth player Takefusa Kubo, the youngster known as the Japanese Messi, four years after their rivals had to release him.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Ferland Mendy completed a dream move to Real Madrid for a fee reported to be in the region of £47million in the next five years. The Japan worldwide was a youth player for the Blaugrana from 2011 till 2015 and even finished his first full season with seventy-four goals in thirty games.

His first Spanish stint ended in hard circumstances as, following three seasons in the Barcelona system, he returned to Japan after the club was hit by a transfer ban for breaching Federation Internationale de Football Association rules on the recruitment of junior players from overseas.

The attacking midfielder continued his youth career with Tokyo FC, with whom he signed his first professional contract.

Another J League record was broken five months later when he became the league's youngest ever scorer aged 15 years and 10 months.

The FC Tokyo star, who is said to have attracted interest from Barcelona, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Los Blancos, recently came off the bench to make his national debut for Japan in their 2-0 victory over El Salvador on 9 June.
