Final Fantasy VII Remake opened the floodgates of Square Enix's announcements at E3 2019, revealing improved gameplay mechanics and visuals that breathe a new life in the game. While purists hoping the Remake would be turn-based will be disappointed, the new system seems like something altogether new for Final Fantasy.
For reference, during the September 2018 Nintendo Direct, Final Fantasy 7, 9, 10, 10-2, and 12 (all titles previously available on the PlayStation 4) were revealed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
If you pre-order any version of the game from select gaming retailers, you'll receive the Chocobo Chick Summon Materia DLC at launch.
To celebrate, Square Enix shared a new trailer featuring development footage of the game.
For the first time in the long history of Final Fantasy VIII, characters are going to be modeled to be realistic and true-to-life, moving away from their typical high-fantasy feel in favor of a grounded, modern story.
In addition to the combat details, Square Enixannounced the $330 1st Class Edition that comes a Steelbook case, art book, mini-soundtrack CD, and a Play Arts Kai Cloud Strife and Hardy Daytona statue.
