Don't Install Apple's Beta Releases Yet

Apple releases public betas of iOS 13, iPadOS and macOS Catalina

Apple launched its next-gen operating systems just earlier this month.

The iOS 13, iPadOS, and macOS Catalina are now available for download through Apple's Public Beta Software Program. In addition to dark mode and a swiping keyboard, iOS 13 introduces a handful of updates related to fonts.

Lastly, Apple says iOS 13 includes a new way to package apps, which will reduce the app sizes by up to 50 percent and make app updates over 60 percent smaller. It may have its roots in iOS, but this is a different operating system for larger screens. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Note that because it's a public beta, Apple is likely to change and fix many features before iOS 13's final release.

The public beta allows anyone with compatible iPhone to get a preview of the latest iOS software. With the debut of the first iOS 13 public beta, users on all iOS 12-running iPhone and iPod touch models are eligible to get a sneak peek at all the features coming through a public release later this year.

Open Safari on your iOS device and go to Apple's beta software portal. You should be notified once the update is ready.
