The first full trailer for Disney's "Frozen 2" dropped Tuesday morning, and from this early glimpse of the film it appears that the followup to the quaint story of sisters defying the odds - and belting ballads - is more of a "Lord of the Rings"-like epic". While Elsa doesn't know where her powers came from, she does know that she can control them and keep those she loves safe. But be careful, we have always feared Elsa's powers were too much for this world.
"Elsa, the past is not what it really seems - you must find the truth", he says.
"[In Frozen] she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she's just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again", co-director Chris Buck told Fandango.
The first movie was released in 2013 and continues to be one of Disney's most popular films, becoming the first Walt Disney Studios picture to win the Academy Award for best animated feature.
The sequel to the 2013 classic opens on November 22. "The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom", the synopsis reads. The 2015 short Frozen Fever showed a little bit of Elsa's new attitude towards her powers now that she's learning how to use them for good, and the sequel will see Elsa take them to the next level.
The new poster sees the two women sans the other characters like Olaf, Kristoff and Sven walking through the dark woods. "Let it Go" became the anthem of a generation of kids, but this new trailer gives us no sampling of the sequel's soundtrack.
