Redmi Note 7S teased for India, but what should you expect?

Xiaomi to launch Redmi Note 7S with 48MP camera on May 20 in India

Similar to the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the Redmi Note 7S' highlight is also going to be a 48 MP camera (with probably the same Sony IMX586 sensor). On the out, Redmi Note 7S will come with the same design as Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro.

As you can see from the image shown above, the smartphone, identified with the code name Raphael, has gained a whopping 458,754 points on AnTuTu 7.3.0, a record-breaking score that allows it to bypass the more famous cousin Xiaomi Mi 9. Redmi Note 7 Pro features 48-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual rear cameras. Xiaomi has revealed that the Redmi Note 7S will be launched in India on 20th May, featuring a 48 MP rear camera sensor. Last month, Jain teased the launch of a new smartphone for Indian market on Twitter with Qualcomm officials asking Xiaomi fans to guess what smartphone that would be.

The Redmi Note 7S is expected to be a variant that will sit between the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro. If the phone turns out to be the same, it'll feature a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ display with a dot notch and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.

The company is yet to confirm the processor, but it may run on the same chipset as Redmi Note 7, the Snapdragon 660 chip. The Redmi Note 7 Pro gets a faster Snapdragon 675 SoC with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage.

In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 is rumored to come with a triple rear camera with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP telephoto camera. "Mark your calendars!" This message was accompanied by a picture of the Earth taken from the Redmi Note 7S. Connectivity options will include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wifi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS, and USB Type C. It will also pack a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 support. One possibility is that India is getting a global version of the Redmi Note 7 rather than an entirely new model. The announcement confirmed that the Redmi Note 7S will come with the 48MP camera.
