Many who volunteered to appear on the The Jeremy Kyle Show did so to help resolve personal problems, but would often be shouted at by host Jeremy Kyle as the studio audience cheered. They were there to answer accusations of an affair.

The show was temporarily axed following the death of a guest, but was then permanently cancelled shortly after.

Damian Collins MP, chair of the digital, culture, media and sport select committee, said: "There needs to be an independent review of the duty of care TV companies have to participants in reality TV shows".

When Gemma Swift appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show she was ridiculed by viewers over the state of her "horrendous" teeth - but now she says she's "really glad" that she went on the recently scrapped ITV show. How could I? I had two carers coming every day.

Woolley spoke to his father for the first time in seven years following the appearance on the show after a relative contacted him, concerned over his father's emotional state.

"It was bad, it felt like they wanted you to slag someone off, when the whole point of the show I was on was to to try and sort out problems".

"The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end".

"Jeremy Kyle knew the story was made up and they made us sign a contract to say we wouldn't tell anyone - that's how it goes".

"There was massive pressure from above to get the most dramatic result".

Not only that, it looks like ITV is attempting to delete the show from history.

"The police came up to me and they sectioned me, I was really depressed".

The anti-Jeremy Kyle petition quickly gained just over 75,000 signatures, describing the show as turning 'the real-life suffering of people into entertainment'.

Ms Ferguson has also criticised the show for the delay in delivering counselling, claiming months have since passed with no action being implemented. It should be cancelled.

"Before I went out they were saying how I should go out there and give her a piece of my mind".

"They were both sobbing; they were just completely and utterly devastated and it was clear that he had just lost his entire life with his fiancee".

"He told us he was going to keep us together for counselling but months have gone by and I am still waiting".

Beer claims he has had to move from his home to a secret location in Devon for his own safety, as he would get photographed wherever he went and attacked in the street.
