Comedian And Actor Tim Conway Dies at 85

The Hollywood Reporter reported Tuesday that Conway died this morning in Los Angeles.

People reports Conway faced complicates from Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus and showed no signs of dementia or Alzheimer's.

Conway won four Emmy Awards for his work on The Carol Burnett Show creating characters like Oldest Man and Mr. Tudball. The ensemble cast included Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner.

Conway, who changed his first name from Thomas to Tim so as to avoid confusion with actor Tom Conway, had his own short-lived sitcom in 1970. He frequently guest-starred on the most popular shows of the day, including Married with Children and Mad About You. Pandemonium breaks out, as Match Game's resident lothario Richard Dawson dips Burnett and plants a kiss on her. Rayburn mimics Dawson, except he grabs Conway instead.

Conway, who was born on December 15, 1933, grew up near Cleveland and after serving in the Army worked in Cleveland radio and developed comedy routines. In recent years, he booked guest spots on Mike & Molly, Glee, Hot in Cleveland and Melissa & Joey, among other series, and lent his voice to animated shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, in which he voiced Barnacle Boy, and Dragons: Riders of Berk, in which he voiced Mulch. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a double major in speech and radio.

"Harvey wet his trousers", Conway bragged.

Conway first found television fame on the 1960s comedy "McHale's Navy" playing Ensign Parker, a befuddled by-the-book officer in a group of unconventional sailors in the Pacific during World War Two.

He was spotted by Rose Marie of "The Dick Van Dyke Show", who got him an audition for "The Steve Allen Show".

The actor is survived by his wife, children, and two grandchildren.
