As usual, Asus spent a lot of time talking about the camera and the flip mechanism. The camera serves as both front and rear cameras, thanks to the 180° flip-up module, allowing you to have great photos and shooting for selfies. It makes taking photos of animals and children easier too, as you can position the camera at a 90-degree angle and take photos from a horizontal position.
Resistant to dust In an attempt to make screens notchless, most smartphone manufacturers have gone the way of pop-up cameras, leading to questions on durability, and resistance to natural elements. While we didn't have the time to test the battery life of the Zenfone 6, Asus claims that it will last for two days on a single charge which is decent. There's also an extra key for Google Assistant that can be remapped to other functions. This, by default, can be used to summon Google Assistant easily, but it can be customised to perform a variety of actions, from opening the camera to enabling the torch.
Asus Zenfone 6 comes in Midnight black, Twilight Silver colour variants. Asus even bundled a pair of ZenEar headphones (also Hi-Res certified) that you can plug into the 3.5mm jack.
Asus has just announced the Zenfone 6 which brings a near bezel-less front and packs in serious firepower. For comparison, the Galaxy S10+ settles for a shorter 19:9 display and an 88.9% screen-to-body ratio. It looks bright, crisp and looks to have awesome colour reproduction, but this is something we'll test out in more detail at Tech Advisor Towers. What's more, it has a microSD expansion card slot for even more media. The company has made some major improvements in the ZenUI and it now features near-stock experience. For now though, we're quietly confident about the ZenFone 6's capabilities. The phone is powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery which charges via USB-C. We've already seen this on the similarly equipped Oppo N3, but it certainly seems like an interesting use-case nonetheless.
Out of the box, it runs on Android 9 Pie with ZenUI 6 skin on top. Naturally, it's added a few of its own bells and whistles, including a Smart Volume feature that adjusts your ringtone level to match your environment and a dark mode for the UI. Here are details on the features, specs, pricing, and the release date.
The tweet confirms that the company's upcoming flagship Zenfone 6 will feature a 5,000 mAh battery capacity.
