Trump Goes Golfing Day After Release of Mueller Report
New York Representative Jerry Nadler, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, said in a press conference that the report outlines "disturbing evidence" that Trump engaged in obstruction of justice. During the panel discussion, Ryan was asked about the allegations that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders made certain statements to the public that were inaccurate.
By the way, Huckabee's gutted like a deer comments were made in response to the so-called PieGate, a silly controversy in November 2017 which involved a spat between Ryan and Sanders and if the press secretary had actually made a homemade pie.
It's not the first time the two public figures have feuded, but the spat reached its zenith after Huckabee painted Ryan's metaphorical calls for Sanders to be fired as an "incitement of murder". Sanders had told reporters that Comey had lost the confidence of rank-and-file members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation who welcomed the president's decision. She claimed to have heard from "countless" former and current Federal Bureau of Investigation agents.
She also admitted to the special counsel's office that she lied in saying that "countless Federal Bureau of Investigation agents" lost faith in Comey, and she lied about Trump dictating his son's statement to the press about the Trump Tower meeting.
But the report also said she acknowledged the comment "was not founded on anything".
Q Sarah, you said from the podium yesterday that Director Comey had lost the confidence of the rank and file of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
And, well, the report did reveal that an very bad lot of them had to steer Trump away from multiple attempts to meddle with Mueller's probe.
But Sanders refused to admit that she spouted falsehoods.
"She out and out lied, and the people, the American people can't trust her".
MS. SANDERS: Well, I can speak to my own personal experience. "It's time for her to go".
"Watch out for people that take so-called "notes", when the notes never existed until needed", Trump said in one of his tweets Friday.
On Thursday, US Attorney General William Barr said Mueller did not find any evidence that the Trump campaign conspired with Russian Federation to interfere in the 2016 US presidential election. She explained to investigators that it was a "slip of the tongue". "If specific individuals were discussed, they would have been those known to the Committee, the White House, and the media".
"She should be fired, end of story", Ryan said in a Thursday CNN interview on Erin Burnett OutFront. Ryan then jokingly demanded that Huckabee Sanders "show it to us on the table with folks eating it and a pic of you cooking it".
