Highlights: Vasyl Lomachenko Annihilates Anthony Crolla To Retain Lightweight Title

A press conference announcing a boxing match between Amir Khan and WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford

Lomachenko, a two time Olympic gold medallist, improved to 13-1 with 10 knockouts as he dominated the third and fourth rounds against Crolla who was a massive 100-1 underdog.

Vasyl Lomachenko has called out Mikey Garcia after making short work of Anthony Crolla on Friday night.

Lomachenko (13-1, 10 KOs) continued his historic march, which includes titles in three weight divisions, by flooring Crolla face first in Round 4 with a flawless right hook to the side of the head to cap off yet another one-sided performance. Both Lomachenko and the California commission members thought the fight had been stopped and began to celebrate and enter the ring until Reiss restored order. At 0:58 seconds of the fourth round, Lomachenko scored the knockout victory to successfully, easily and very violently retain his unified WBO/WBA lightweight titles.

Crolla, meanwhile, had said in advance of the fight that he was prepared to "shock the world" when he was plugged into the bout as an injury replacement for IBF champion Richard Commey, but in truth it was a poor performance from the the Englishman.

Crolla, 32, wasn't Lomachenko's first choice as an opponent.

Lomachenko told Sky Sports: "Of course for me, more interest in Mikey Garcia, but if Mikey Garcia can't cut weight, maybe it will be Luke Campbell, maybe we can organise a fight in the UK". Losing to Lomachenko is never a disgrace. "That's my goal. I want historic fights", Lomachenko said post-fight. The Ukrainian has developed a significant fan base in the boxing-savvy Los Angeles area, where he lives and trains.

As the fight continued, Lomachenko was relentless with his attack and opening up with his offense while Crolla simply shelled up and was attempting to survive the onslaught.
